Erosion Control Blankets

Erosion Control Blankets

Erosion control blankets are used to prevent erosion and provide slope stabilization. They are most often used on slopes and provide a barrier against sediment runoff and erosion until vegetation has assumed its function.

Once installed, they slow down the flow of water across the surface, decreasing the possibility of erosion and sediment runoff.

Erosion control blankets are most often used in combination with other methods, such as FFTs or TRMs. They are a short-term erosion and sediment control solution, lasting one to three years, depending on the material used.

Installation of erosion control blankets is lengthy and the cost of installation is higher due to the labour hours required.
